The Marías: Paranoia
Music performance, interview, and photography
For Spotify Radar, I was tapped by Grand Crew to art direct The Marías’ performance—part of Spotify’s global series spotlighting emerging talent.
My role centered on shaping the overall visual world of the video, with a focus on set design. Drawing from the artist interview and their distinct creative language, I translated thematic cues into spatial elements that could hold both mood and meaning. In this case, blue was non-negotiable—the color anchors The Marías’ album visuals and became the driving force of the design.
The result was Cold Solitude: a minimal, icy interior lit with stark white beams from a window and door—suggesting isolation, but with a surreal calm. Working closely with the production designer, photographer, and director Geoff Levy, I helped build a contained world that reflected both the artist’s vision and the recurring Radar architecture.
